Ways To Conquer The Stress Of Understanding Guitar Chords For The Beginner
While there are no real secrets, there are some useful guidelines that you can use to learn beginner guitar chords, starting today.
Lets suppose that you have a chart of chords and that you already have an understanding of how to play the guitar, read a diagram and position your fingers on the fretboard and strings properly. Your next step would not be to strive to know every chord that is on the chart as soon as possible.
A preferable way would be to start with only two to three easy to play guitar chords. These should preferably be belonging to the same key or family. A key is a group of related chords or a "family" that musicians use when composing songs.
Many guitar education methods will start a novice out utilizing the key of A. 3 chords from this family are "A" "D" and "E".
With these three chords a learner can play countless relatively easy guitar songs.
Select one chord at a time and master the finger placement. Starting out with the "A". Practice keeping your fingers down on the chord and lifting them up and reposition them again many times. Do this for as long as is comfortable for you. Don't worry about strumming at this point. This is called establishing "muscle memory".
At this point try strumming. Strum all the strings that are supposed to be included for that chord. You might hear muted or buzzing sounds from the strings. If this happens, keep your fingers positioned on the proper strings and try playing each string one by one, listening to hear that a decent sound is coming from each one. Experiment with rocking your finger back and forth on each string until you get a clear sound.
Now that you feel comfortable with your first chord = "A", try doing the exact same steps for the subsequent one. Carry out switching between chords in a similar way. Place your fingers for "A" and lift and reposition your fingers for "D", and back to "A". Repeating this many times. Next you can add "E" into the mix. Begin with the A, to the D to the E and continue to keep looping this pattern or progression.
Don't get aggravated if your not moving forward as fast as you would like. Gradually with time and practice you will be strumming and be able to switch between chords easily.
